Fortnite’s latest patch adds invisibility grenades

Shadow Bombs are here to make the game a little stealthier

Fortnite’s new patch isn’t huge, but v8.51 does bring a new item that should shake up the game: Shadow Bombs.

Shadow Bombs are new throwable items that turn its user mostly invisible and grant ninja-like mobility. Players who use the bombs can double jump, leap off of walls, and even get a massive speed boost.

The Shadow Bomb’s effects last six seconds and the invisibility slowly fades over the item’s duration. Players may be extra fast while they are under the Shadow Bomb’s effects, but they can’t build, attack, or loot. Players can hold six of the bombs at once. They can be found in chests, on the floor, in supply drops, or in Supply Llamas.
