The last week of Fortnite’s World Cup Qualifier has been rescheduled

The Pro Am would have been a conflict for many players competing

The Fortnite World Cup is almost here and that means the qualification window is closing for thousands of players. In fact, only two qualification weekends remain: One for solo players, and one for duos. With the final duo qualifier on the horizon, many of Fortnite’s best players were put in a difficult position by Epic when the company scheduled them to compete in the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am tournament at the same time as the final duo qualifier. However, Epic has announced that it is moving the date of the final qualifier back by a few days.

Rather than hosting both tournaments on June 15 and 16, Epic has announced that the qualifiers for week 10 of the World Cup will be moved to June 20 and 21. This is the first time that the World Cup Qualifiers have been hosted on a Thursday and Friday rather than during the weekend.

While Epic’s announcement doesn’t directly state that this move is in relation to the Pro-Am the criticism over the conflict between the tournament has been impossible to ignore. Pro players like Cloakzy, Tfue, and Ninja have all made their disapproval about the issue known. All of the players involved want to participate in the Pro-Am with celebrities without giving up a chance to win $30 million in the World Cup prize pool. But with this move in dates, players won’t have to choose between the two tournaments.

The final week of the Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers will now be held on Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21 in all regions. The qualifiers will also start one hour later than they have in past weeks. The Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am will pair celebrities with professional players and content creators and pit them against each other live at the Forum in Inglewood during Epic’s Fortnite Summer Block Party event.
