Fortnite’s newest patch is about time travel gone wrong

The patch also adds the new Junk Rift item

Fortnite’s content updates are usually small additions to previous patches that just add and item or make a small change. Patch v10.10’s content update does both. This update adds the new Junk Rift item to the game, as well as a change to an old location.

The game’s newest item, the Junk Rift, is similar to the Air Strike that came around at the end of last season. Players can throw the Junk Rift at a location to spawn a giant piece of debris that will crash to the ground, breaking whatever is in its path, including players. As an added bonus, Rifts have a chance to drop a variety of things when they spawn. this could include anything from ammo, to a weapon, to a giant object that players can farm for extra materials.

As for the new area, this content update changed the Rec Center just west of Tilted Towers. The Rec Center was one of the least updated areas on the entire map. After this latest update, the area has suffered a complete disaster, a Rift Zone exploded near it and left only a crater behind. Inside this crater players can now find Glitch Consumables, which are randomly spawned versions of consumables from the past. These consumables include everything from apples, to Hop Rocks, to Shadow Stones.
