Getting ready for The Old Hunters DLC

How is everyone else getting ready for this? I created a new character a couple of days ago and just got to Rom last night, I've been kind of rushing myself through it this playthrough trying to do a skill/arcane build. Definitely new to me as I mostly play quality builds.
