Darksiders II: Should I play it through?

I've been playing Darksiders II on and off since it's been released and I've only clocked about 18hours(according to steam). I'm at the point of the game where I have the split ability.

Lately the game feels as if it is getting stale, however I've heard quite a lot of people saying that it gets really good towards the end. So I just want to know if you think it's worth it to push through or just drop it altogether.
