Pokégon Discussions - Alola, Cousins! Welcome to A New Beginning!
Welcome to Pokégon Discussions, where whether we're 12 hours apart (in-game), we can always connect.
It's here. IT'S HERE!! The 7th generation of Pokémon has been officially released. Let's jump to the important stuff below.
Reviews are out everywhere, and it's getting good review scores from those that give them out. Check out Polygon's review for starters (since you're here, after all) and see some others.
In a big surprise stateside, Disney has acquired broadcast rights to the Pokémon anime franchise. That means all the previous 19 TV seasons and 15 movies will be aired by them in the US. This includes the newest movie, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, and the Sun & Moon TV series. All episodes will air on Disney XD, starting with the 16th movie and a preview of the TV series' first two episodes on December 5th; the TV anime will officially start airing early next year.
Twitch Plays Pokémon is going through its third season of user-input plays through the franchise, including ROMhacks. They'll be playing Sun starting 5pm EST on the 18th, so check them out when you're taking a break from your own playthrough.
The competitive side for the VGC 2017 is here and are the rules for those of you looking to compete:
Pokémon WCS 2017 rules:— BulbaNewsNOW (@BulbaNewsNOW) October 4, 2016
Alola Dex only
No Mega Evolutions
Only Pokémon caught in Sun/Moon
If you look at some of the response tweets, you're getting "Fox only, no items, Final Destination." Never change, people, LOL. Also, I can taste salt in the air... not sure why. Click here to see Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng break things down. All the same, there are some buffs and nerfs (mostly nerfs) to abilities, attacks, and effects that will affect the meta game, so look to YouTube vids from the likes of pokeaimMD, NumbNexus, and many others to give you the basics.
