Pokégon Discussions - Where's Ya Boy?
Best version of Where's Waldo ever.
Welcome to Pokégon Discussions, where finding YA BOY! is easier than you might think.
A Note:
There's quite the lull in action as far as the games themselves outside of grinding the Battle Tree for BP to put together your competitive team, doing a Nuzlocke, or shiny hunt to have a complete shiny Pokédex. No worries, we're still here for you to share things with.
Next Global Mission: Collect 3 Million Pokébeans
START / END: April 25th to May 9th
Prizes:
- 2,000 Festival Coins (FC) if goal is met; double if game save is registered (4,000 FC)
- Earn a Rare Candy for pitching in
- Level Ball for reaching 6 million
Get to collecting those beans! Might as well pick up a few to add to the 34+ million already collected; Rare Candy's a nice bonus.
Update: The event is well over! Talk about smashing the goal, Trainers. Over 75 million Pokébeans were collected for this event. Maybe the goal should've been more like 30 million?
Pokémon Giveaway Event: Lycanroc (Midnight Form)
This event is confirmed for North America at GameStop locations. I know, I know... "We already have Lycanroc!" "Ash Pikachu and shiny Tapu Koko WHEN!?" Eventually, I assure you. The thing about this Lycanroc is that it's holding a Life Orb and has the Hidden Ability 'No Guard'. This makes it easier to breed a Lycanroc for competitive play (if you don't, y'know, want to use this one).
Go grab a code starting on May 15th through June 5th (that's today, btw).
VGC
The competitive side for the VGC 2017 is here and are the rules for those of you looking to compete:
Pokémon WCS 2017 rules:
— BulbaNewsNOW (@BulbaNewsNOW) October 4, 2016
Double Battle
Alola Dex only
No Mega Evolutions
Only Pokémon caught in Sun/Moon
The competitive season is off to a good start, with the first international championship in London and the first regional in San Jose, CA last month. The meta game is ripe with way more parity than the past few years. It's still early and there are regular Battle Spot events coming constantly, so start getting involved now if you want to go have a chance at going to worlds this year! The VODs for the events should be found on the Pokémon Twitch channels and top matches on their YouTube channel. Click here to see Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng break things down. All the same, there are some buffs and nerfs (mostly nerfs) to abilities, attacks, and effects that will affect the meta game, so look to YouTube vids from the likes of pokeaimMD, NumbNexus, and many others to give you the basics.
One More Thing...
If you didn't participate in the Alola/Kanto Invitational, you can now get your package of the Mega Stones they gave away to the competitors. Enter in the password 'INTIMIDATE' in the Mystery Gift section to get the items.

Returning for this release is the Friend Code database, just for Sun & Moon. Use the form here to enter in the pertinent information and click here to see who's in already. For those of you who play both versions sides (and/or if you play using multiple 3DSes), you can enter in information as many times as needed. Just don't go overboard and mislead people. Remember, this is to help people out with trades, the festival, do battles, and have a good time. Don't be jerks to each other, please. Let's keep it chill.
