Ultimatum Quest - Spoilers!

I got to the point where I have the Ultimatum quest given "by" Dahl. It pretty much started right when I was close to his KASPAR bot and I hacked it - which immediately ended the quest, too. Since there's no way of checking finished quests, I don't know if I failed it or if taking control away from Dahl like that just rescued the people in cargo bay automatically.
