The Game Awards graced us with a new Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer, featuring Cloud and his journey through Midgar.
As part one of the game only focuses on the story up until the gang leaves Midgar, this trailer showcased Cloud helping Avalanche out during their first mission. He is his usual quiet self, as Barret and the rest of Avalanche question how detached from his mission he could possibly be. It also showed him promising Tifa that he wouldn’t leave Midgar, as long as she needed his protection.
The trailer didn’t reveal anything particularly new, nor did it answer any of our questions about what those shadowy creatures are or who the mysterious SOLDIER on the motorcycle was from older trailers.
The remake will feature a classic mode that changes the combat to be turn-based, similar to the original. Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020, with a release on other platforms potentially coming in 2021.
