Medal of Honor: Warfighter, sequel to Electronic Arts' 2010 reboot of the first-person shooter franchise, hits this October, according to a Game Informer report of an Official Xbox Magazine article.
Developers Danger Close will once again be working on the game, though multiplayer will no longer be created by DICE; instead, according to Game Informer, the multiplayer will be created in house.
As with the 2010 shooter, Warfighter will center around the story of Tier 1 Operators. It will be developed with the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which also powers Battlefield 3.
The name and timing comes a year after Danger Close posted on their blog that they were hard at work on the next Medal of Honor title.
"Since our launch last October, we've studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title," Greg Goodrich wrote. "We can't wait to tell you more about it, so check back often to the website and the fan page on Facebook."
We will update this story when Electronic Arts responds to our request for comment.
