CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 were at GDC 2012, and we finally got a look at the console version of the PC graphical showcase. Initial thoughts? It looks like, well, The Witcher 2. In speaking to Lead character artist Pawet Mielniczuk, we learned that the Xbox 360 release has had a massive technical overhaul, with a tweaked renderer and entirely new shaders written for Microsoft's system. The renovated Witcher engine aggressively determines objects that the player can't see in order to save system resources by not rendering them.

Translation: it still looks very pretty and, more specifically, The Witcher 2 looks like it should on a much less powerful platform. Our interview with Mielniczuk goes into more detail below.
