Street Fighter X Tekken patch adds gems, fixes bugs.

Bowing to criticism over Street Fighter x Tekken's buggy online sound and other issues, Capcom has announced a comprehensive free update that will address several of those problems and add a few new features.

The patch, scheduled for release on April 10th, will repair a bug causing audio issues for certain online games, and will add a Tournament Support mode, over 60 new gems, a gem loadout save feature and a replay analyzer.

The embarrassment of new stat-boosting gems includes Pandora Extend, Defense and Expert Input.

Pandora Extend does what it sounds like, extending the Pandora duration of the Pandora gem, a gem that grants you a power boost for sacrificing one of your characters, from 10 seconds to 20 seconds. Capcom says characters haven't been using Pandora that much, so they hope the extra 10 ticks will tempt you.

The new Defense Gem combines the effects of three gems (Autoblock, Autothrow and Chip Damage Negation), but will take up two gem blocks and require one block of meter to enable.

Expert Input walks back accessibility "enhancements" to Street Fighter x Tekken in response to concerns from tournament players. The gem will make controlling your fighters just a touch more difficult, but will alleviate issues some players have been having with triggering unintended combos. Consider it the equivalent of removing the training wheels.

Additional updates will be offered in May as DLC. A free DLC pack will add new character costume colors, while the Assist Gem Pack 4 and Booster Packs 3 & 4 will be available for $2 (160 Microsoft Points) and $1 (80 Microsoft Points) respectively.
