Sega, Capcom and Namco have finally revealed their oft-teased collaboration: Project X Zone, a role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS.
The title features characters from all three companies' biggest franchises, including Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Vakyria Chronicles, Space Channel 5, and .Hack, to name a few. As seen in screenshots released in Famitsu, characters will form teams of two and brawl in side-scrolling battles reminiscent of the PS2 title Namco x Capcom. The magazine also mentions RPG and sim elements, though those were not explained in full detail.
The game is scheduled to launch in Japan sometime this year. We've reached out for information on a possible North American release.
