Battlefield 3's BattleLog is a free service that keeps track of players' stats in the game, letting them know important details like Kill/Death ratios and how close they are to unlocking the next attachment to their favorite gun. Oddly, the console version of the game has a considerably scaled down BattleLog, compared to what's on the PC, so console players have often had to play with a browser open to see how they've been performing. A new BattleLog iOS app, released earlier today, should alleviate some of those requirements.

The BattleLog app (available for free here), contains all the functionality of the full website, allowing you to add friends to your BattleLog-specific friends list, check out upcoming unlocks and see your overall stats. Unlike the Call of Duty Elite mobile app, you won't be able to customize your Battlefield 3 loadouts through the app.

No word yet on whether additional updates are planned for the BattleLog app, though players should expect that the data in your BattleLog (such as the friends list) should carry over to Medal of Honor: Warfighter, releasing later this year.
