Leisure Suit Larry creator Al Lowe and Austin-based developer Replay Games have opened up a Kickstarter campaign to raise $500,000 to remake the puerile series' first installment: Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Replay announced the project last June after acquiring the rights to the franchise from "Big Software," but is seeking funds through the increasingly popular crowdsourced funding site to avoid publisher interference with Leisure Suit Larry's oftentimes mature (and pretty much always immature) content. The studio is also asking for money to bring the game to as many platforms as possible, including PC, Mac, XBLA, PSN and smartphones.

The gifts for the campaign range from pre-orders for the final version of the game for $15, to an assumedly debacherous trip to Los Vegas with Al Lowe and writer Josh Mandel, which will run you $50,000. Check out the Kickstarter page to hear Lowe's pitch for the remakes, and try to count the number of sexual puns therein. We counted 17 before our NetNanny added the page to a block list.
