A few lines of code woven into the latest update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim reference two promising potential additions bound for the RPG: Snow Elves and crossbows.

The code, which was unearthed by a user on the Bethesda forums in Skyrim Update 1.5.26, references animations for crossbows, as well as a "Snow Elf Prince." The former is heretofore unheard of in the game — Skyrim's bows are, across the board, of the un-crossed variety — but the Snow Elves are already a part of the Elder Scrolls fiction.

Apparently, the Snow Elves were displaced by the Nords, and retreated from their mountain homes to caverns deep underground, where they mutated into the monstrous Falmer. Ripten dug a little deeper, sharing an in-game book titled "Fall of the Snow Prince," which you can read here.
