Nintendo announces new playable Baby Mario for Mario Open Tennis

Nintendo's upcoming Mario Tennis Open includes a playable Baby Mario who now joins Luma and Dry Bowser as characters that can be unlocked through game play or special QR Codes.

The 3DS title features online play in competitive or cooperative local wireless matches, as well as Victory Medals and a monthly leaderboard. Additionally Ring Shot Challenges are available in cooperative or competitive forms via StreetPass.

Users also have the opportunity to customize their Mii's with unlockable outfits that improve their on-court performance using the StreetPass feature.

Mario Tennis Open is available in stores May 20, in simultaneous release with Nintendo's recently announced Midnight Purple-colored 3DS.
