Metro: Last Light countdown begins on website, live action film to show next week

A countdown clock on the official Metro: Last Light website is now live, pointing to the world premier of a live action short film on May 24.

The title is the sequel to the 2010 release Metro 2033, a first-person shooter with an undercurrent of survival horror, based on the novel of the same name by author Dmitri Glukhovsky.

Metro 2033 took place in a post-apocalyptic Russia and featured a struggle through territory occupied by Soviets, Nazis and mutants. Its sequel, however, will not follow the events of Glukhovsky's second novel in the series, Metro 2034.

Metro: Last Night was originally scheduled to launch in 2012. The game will now release next year on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.
