Diablo 3's biggest Easter egg — folks familiar with the franchise might have a good idea of what we're talking about here — has been discovered by four of the game's most intrepid players.

This may count as spoiler territory for those of you who want to experience Diablo 3 without any prior knowledge of the twists and turns of the catacombs within. We'll give you a second to abandon ship, if you fall into that category.

Okay, so it's not exactly the Secret Cow levels of Diablo games past, but it's pretty darn close: Players who manage to find the right rare drops off the right rare mobs can open up a portal to Whimsyshire, a colorful, unicorn-filled realm of wonder and mystery. And rainbows. And Happy Clouds.

The area appears to be a reference to some initial backlash over Diablo 3's art style, which is a great deal more colorful than the dark and drab hallways of the series' previous installments.

If you can't resist Whimsyshire's siren call — it's got achievements and rare loot! — then you can follow the instructions of this Blizzard forum post to find out how to get there. For now, check out the video below.
