Gearbox Software announced details of two collector's editions for their upcoming shooter Borderlands 2 this morning, and unveiled a slew of goodies they plan to give out to gamers who purchase either of them or pre-order the standard edition of the game.
Gearbox Software announced details of two collector's editions for their upcoming shooter Borderlands 2 this morning, and unveiled a slew of goodies they plan to give out to gamers who pre-order any version of the game.
The Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collector's Edition will set gamers back $99.99 and comes with the game; a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead; Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2 hardbound book; a sticker set; map of Pandora; digital comic download code; and extra downloadable in-game digital content.
For $50 more than the Vault Hunter's Edition, gamers can pick up The Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition. This collector's edition comes with all of the items including in Vault Hunter's plus: a collectable scaled replica of the red loot chests found throughout Pandora in Borderlands 2; steel book case; Creatures of Pandora wide-format ID chart; lithograph postcard set; field notes from Sir Hammerlock; cloth map of Pandora; and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Both editions will be available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Anyone who pre-orders any version of Borderlands 2, including the standard edition, will also gain access to the game's Premiere Club. The club lets gamers download the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key, the Vault Hunter's Relic and the Mechromancer character class.
The Gearbox Gun Pack is a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora. The Golden Key is used to unlock a rare in-game item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in Borderlands 2. The Vault Hunter's Relic is an in-game item that boosts players' gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends. The Mechromancer character class will be available following launch when development of the character is complete and is free to those who pre-order Borderlands 2, and will be available for purchase for those who do not.
Borderlands 2 hits stores in North America on Sept. 18 and internationally three days later.
