The Australian studio behind Gamebook Adventures – the modern day choose your own adventure books in mobile game form – will develop and publish the iOS and Android apps based on Ian Livingstone's latest Fighting Fantasy game book, Blood of the Zombies.

Livingstone made a name for himself 30 years ago when he first wrote The Warlock of Firetop Mountain for the Fighting Fantasy series, which he co-created with Steve Jackson.

To mark the game book's 30th anniversary, Livingstone is releasing a new Fighting Fantasy adventure and the Aussie studio Tin Man Games, best known for their Gamebook Adventures on Android and iOS, will create an interactive digital book using their game book engine.

The creative director for Tin Man Games, Neil Rennison said: "I don't think it's any secret that Gamebook Adventures was inspired by Fighting Fantasy. Therefore it is an absolute honor to have the responsibility of creating the 30th anniversary game book apps.

"Somewhere back in the mod 80s a 10 year old Neil is staring at the future me with his jaw on the floor!"

Blood of the Zombies will be released simultaneously alongside a printed book in August. Tin Man Games are currently working on other Gamebook Adventures titles as well as Blood of the Zombies. Late last year they announced that they acquired the license to make a Judge Dredd Gamebook Adventure.
