Valve attending E3 2012 but has no plans for product announcements
Valve is attending this year's E3, the publisher confirmed this morning, however there are no plans to announce new products at the annual expo.
"We have no product announcements planned for this year's show," Valve representative Doug Lombardi told Joystiq today.
This comes in the wake of last month's comment by company head Gabe Newell, stating in an email response to one ValveTime forum member that only known titles will be shown throughout the event.
"We are not announcing anything at E3," said Newell. "Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing off stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10' UI,...)"
DoTA 2 was formally announced in 2010, while Counter-Strike: Global Offense is scheduled for a Summer release this year. Steam's 10' Big Picture mode was announced earlier in the year to bring Valve's digital download service to television-size screens.
E3 2012 takes place June 5th-7th in Los Angeles, CA.
