'Dead Space 3' screenshot and logo appear online

A screenshot and logo for Dead Space 3 surfaced online today, showing a character propelling themself through space within orbit of a planet.

The picture is thought to come from the official EA website which currently shows a countdown written in an alien language.

This follows yesterday's teased Dead Space graphic novel-style trailer featuring Earthgov Sergeant John Carver in a heated discussion with his wife following an attack on the Marker Site. A statement underneath the trailer states "This is just the start of John Carver's saga in the Dead Space universe."

EA confirmed a Dead Space game was in development during its FY2012 financials back at the start of the month.
