Spicy Horse Games' online, multiplayer, free-to-play game went into open beta on Kongregate today.

The CEO of Spicy Horse, American McGee, describes BigHead BASH as a fast-paced, multiplayer online action game with console-quality graphics using licensed content. Among the content licensed includes bands, brands, comics, and games.

"BigHead BASH is designed to bridge the gap between social-online and hardcore action games – targeting the magical 'mid-core'," McGee said in a statement.

"Set in a toy shop, the game offers up an impressive collection of virtual toys and weapons for players to collect and fight."

More toys and characters that will be usable in-game will be announced in the coming weeks, with toys from Alice: Madness Returns set to hit the in-game store on June 19.

Players can choose a character, customize their appearance, select toys and weapons, and then battle it out against the CPU or other players over a series of platforms.

Players can sign up for the open beta here. The trailer can be viewed below.
