République is a game being designed for touch-based devices and that aims to create intense action without a focus on killing, to feature a believable and non-sexualized female lead, to explore heavier topics and, according to the developers, to build a game and story from the ground up specifically for touch interfaces. If the game meets its funding goal, it will also receive a PC and Mac port.

The developers cite works like George Orwell's 1984 as inspiration for some of the deeper and darker themes they are exploring in their stealth/survival hybrid game.

République' Kickstarter campaign is seven days from the finish line. It has a backing goal of $500,000. At the time of writing, less than half of that has been pledged, with a total of $216,811 coming from 4,761 backers.
