The debut trailer for the recently announced The Elder Scrolls Online is here, and it sets up the conflict players will find themselves embroiled in when the game launches next year.

The trailer has a woeful lack of gameplay, instead focusing on the artistic explanation of the iron-wrought ring which accompanied The Elder Scrolls Online's Game Informer reveal. See, everyone in Tamriel wants to be the Emperor, but only one person's going to be able to do so — that's going to open the door to a lot of territorial bickering, or, in metaphorical terms, snake-tail-eating. Make sense now?

Check out the trailer below. Sure, it may lack any firm details about the game, but that theme song's enough to get anyone pumped to the max.
