Spec Ops: The Line demo is live
A demo for Spec Ops: The Line should now be available to Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Network members, 2K Games said this morning.
The demo kicks off with a Delta Force recon team, led by Captain Martin Walker, arriving in Dubai half a year after a sandstorm whipped through the city, leaving it in ruins. It sounds a bit like one of the early press demos making the rounds last year.
In the game, players fight their way through the sand-blown city of Dubai using the sand as both cover and weapon as they search for Colonel John Konrad and the survivors of the Damned 33rd. The narrative of the game leans heavily on Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and the modern movie adaptation of that classic story, Apocalypse Now.
The demo will be made available to all Xbox Live members, not just paying Gold members, on May 15. The game, developed by Yager, hits the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 26 in North America and everywhere else on June 29.
