A new Tomb Raider trailer with gameplay footage shows Lara Croft's struggle for survival after being shipwrecked on an island inhabited by a dangerous cult.

The video reveals more of the kinds of environments Lara will have to traverse, as well as gameplay elements like using a bow and arrow to hunt.

The trailer shows a more realistic, gritty Lara Croft who is easily affected by the elements and is at one point covered in blood and dirt after fighting off her attackers.

The game's release date was recently pushed back to 2013 after development studio Crystal Dynamics announced they needed more time to polish the game and deliver it at a standard they're happy with.

Tomb Raider will be shown at E3 next week. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on March 5, 2013. The trailer can be viewed below.
