Trendy Entertainment announced today that the PS Vita version of Dungeon Defenders has been shelved.

Trendy Entertainment announced today that the PS Vita version of Dungeon Defenders has been shelved.

The game, which was originally announced when the PS Vita was still called the Next-Gen Portable (NGP), was shown in a tech demo early last year. The studio confirmed on their official forum today that development on the game has stopped.

"E3 came and went, and our fans noticed that nothing was said about Dungeon Defenders for the Vita," Trendy Entertainment wrote on its forum. "While we believe the Vita is a very capable platform, we've decided to shelve the Vita port of the game.

"Many fans, including myself, would like to play Dungeon Defenders on the portable device, but ultimately, we've decided to divert those resources to other pursuits. We can't talk about these at the moment. In fact, you may not hear about these for quite some time. But trust us when we say it'll be worth the wait."

The team announced that a patch is in the works for the console version of the game and will be released as DLC soon.
