Carmen Sandiego is being made into a film which may feature Jennifer Lopez.
Educational game series Carmen Sandiego is being adapted into a film which could very well star its producer, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the upcoming film is being penned by Jack the Giant Killer writer Derren Lemke whose previous work includes writing credits on Shrek Forever After.
The film will follow its titular character, described as the greatest detective at the ACME agency, who becomes the world's greatest thief, leaving her former partner to track her down based on a series of clues.
Rights for the title were picked up by Walden Media from Houghton Mifflin last fall. Development of the project will be overseen by Walden senior vice-president of development and production Evan Turner and Walden CEO Michael Bostick. They anticipate the film will be a cross between Thomas Crown Affair and National Treasure.
Carmen Sandiego first appeared in 1985 with the release of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, an educational tool later used in elementary schools across North America. Three Carmen Sandiego television shows have been created since.
