Harvest Moon: A New Beginning will be the most customizable Harvest Moon game Natsume has ever released, it was revealed at E3 this week.
While the core game design will be in line with earlier Harvest Moon titles, a spokesperson for Natsume showed Polygon a demo where everything from the character to the farm and the town can be customized.
The customization begins in the character creator stage where players can choose their skin color and outfits, and then proceed to move objects and even houses. Players can move watering holes, roads, bales of hay, and even their neighbor's homes. Gone are the days of long trips back and forth from wells and shops; players can now relocate these objects simply by selecting them and placing them in a new location.
The blacksmith has also been replaced with a studio where players obtain blueprints to craft their own goods and furniture.
Players can still befriend other players and the goal of getting married and having kids remain.
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for 3DS is planned for the fourth quarter of 2012.
