Medal of Honor: Warfighter is now letting its community suggest names for a new multiplayer mode.
The Medal of Honor: Warfighter community can now help in the naming of a new multiplayer mode for the upcoming title by offering suggestions on the game's official Facebook page.
As described by its creative director Kristoffer Bergqvist, the mode - currently called "Sport" - was one of the first prototyped in the game.
"The idea was to create an arena for the players who were searching for the most competitive type of gameplay-an arena that fit traditional clan structures well. We knew that we wanted a game mode that was as rewarding to play as it was exciting to watch. Quick rounds with no respawn abilities were established early, and getting the national flags to be a central part of gameplay was a given once we saw the overwhelming response to the Global Tier 1 concept."
Bergqvist calls this "Sport" mode an explosive gameplay mode in which the attacking team attempts to force through narrow choke-points in order to steal one of two flags from the defending side.
"The majority of the combat happens at the beginning of the round while the attackers are fighting to cross the defensive lines. If the defenders fail and let the attack through, they'll need to switch tactics when closing in on the attackers' escape routes. Fail a second time and they'll lose that round."
Danger Close hopes this mode will appeal to the e-sports scene and take the Medal of Honor franchise to the next level of competitive battles.
Those interested in participating can head to the game's Facebook page and fill out a short form with their suggested title, name, and email. Users can continue suggesting mode titles until July 26th, while the winner will be announced in August.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is scheduled to release in North America on October 23rd.
