QuakeCon 2012 tournament lineup revealed

Details regarding QuakeCon 2012's upcoming tournaments are here.

QuakeCon 2012 will feature four tournaments this year, scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas from August 2nd to August 5th.

Those competing in the tournaments will fight for their share of over $30,000 in prize money.

Matches will be broadcast live during each day of the competition, featuring play-by-play commentary who will over live match coverage, player interviews, and analysis.

In the Duel Invitational Masters Championship, 32 of the world's best QUAKE LIVE players selected by tournament staff will battle in a head-to-head duel for $20,000 in a single elimination bracket, with each match played in a best-of-three format. The remaining two players will compete in a best-of-five game for $9000. The tournament will feature five arenas, including Aerowalk, Blood Run, Furious Heights, Lost World, and Toxicity.

Open Capture the Flag is a 4 vs. 4 competition for up to eight teams to fight in a best-of-three format, and a best-of-five finale. Those on top will share a prize of $7000, $4000 of which will go to the winning team.

In the Duel Open, 64 amateur players will battle for $2000, with $1000 offered to the winner of the best-of-three match. It will take place in the Battleforged, Campgrounds, Hektik, House of Decay, and Phrantic arenas.

Finally, the random draw Free-for-All will allow attendees to battle for a share of $1000. Eight participants will be drawn at random from the crowd to compete in five-minute-long Free-for-All challenges. The winner of each challenge will receive $100.
