Mortal Kombat: Legacy season 2 announced by director Kevin Tancharoen.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy, the live action web series directed by Kevin Tancharoen, will get another season of mystical martial arts action. Tancharoen took to YouTube today to announce the series' second season, saying that new episodes will "be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament this time."

"People were expressing their opinions on wanting to see more fighting, more action, more visual effects," Tancharoen said, "so we really took that to heart." The second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy will star an even longer list of kombatants, according to the announcement trailer.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy began as a fan-directed short film — Mortal Kombat: Rebirth — featuring Tancharoen's unique take on Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, Baraka and other Mortal Kombat staples. Warner Bros. commissioned a nine episode web series and later tapped Tancharoen to direct a movie due in 2013.
