Skulls of the Shogun and its undead samurai should be ready for battle this fall to coincide with the October 26th launch of Windows 8, according to the developer of the cross-platform asynchronous strategy game.
"The plan is to sim-ship on Win 8 (desktop, and both versions of Surface), Windows Phone 7, and XBLA in the same week," developer 17-bit's creative and art director, Jake Kazdal, told Joystiq.
"We're certainly shooting for day one release with Win 8, and it looks very likely, but nothing is set in stone yet," Kazdal said.
Earlier this year, Polygon spoke with 17-bit's three-developer team about the challenges of making XBLA's first asynchronous game, building a lighthearted strategy game, finding a publisher, and shipping the game on multiple platforms.
You can watch the Skulls of the Shogun E3 trailer below, which is bursting with more information than you've ever known about the samurai afterlife.
