Microsoft reported a record high in fourth quarter earnings, according to its latest earnings report.
The company reported $18.06 billion in revenue in the fiscal Q4 (which is 'regular' Q2, in non-fiscal speak), up from last year's $17.37 billion in the same quarter.
The company's Entertainment and Devices Division increased their revenue by $292 million, up 20% from the same quarter last year due to the integration of Skype.
Microsoft did report some declines, though. The Windows and Windows Live Division revenue delined by 13% in the fourth quarter and 3% in the full year. Its operating income was $192 million and its loss per share was $0.06, resulting in a net loss of $492 million for the quarter. The loss was primarily due to a goodwill impairment charge of $6.2 billion.
The company shopped 1.1 million Xbox 360 consoles, down from last year's 1.7 million during the same quarter, but it still remains the dominant selling console for the US for the 18th month in a row.
