Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance received a new video featuring three minutes of gameplay.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the upcoming Metal Gear spinoff starring cyborg ninja Raiden, received a new video today featuring three minutes of gameplay.
The video follows Raiden through VR training, highlighting the precision swordplay mechanics that define the title. In "blade mode," he slices and dices through cyborgs, cars and, of course, watermelons, generally doing the sorts of things that one might expect from a cyborg ninja and his sword.
Revengeance takes place three years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. In a world free of the hegemonic Patriots, instability reigns, and Raiden feels compelled to protect and save lives amidst the chaos.
Polygon played the E3 demo on which the video is based, so be sure to read our impressions of the frenetic combat.
Developed by Kojima Productions and PlatinumGames, and published by Konami, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled for release in early 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. You can watch the cyborg swordplay below.
