The Halifax division of HB Studios, developers of the upcoming NBA Baller Beats for Kinect, is closing.

HB Studios is closing their Halifax branch, developer of the upcoming real basketball required NBA Baller Beats, according to a statement acquired by Kotaku.

"HB Studios is closing its satellite studio in Halifax and consolidating at its Lunenburg HQ," HB's director of operations Melanie Williams told Kotaku. "The Halifax Studio has been in operation for almost 5 years. With the lease on its Barrington Street location coming to an end, the Company has made a decision to not renew. There are 24 full time development staff at the Halifax Studio; the Company is working to transfer as many as possible to its 15,000 sq ft HQ."

The Halifax sutdio opened in 2008 and began developing EA Sports NBA Live '09 for the Wii, PS2, and PSP, and EA Sports NHL '09 for PS2 and PC. It's most recent titles, Medal Bound for iOS and NBA Baller Beats, were co-developed with HB Studios' Lunenburg office, which will handle post-development support.
