Batman: Arkham Asylum will not load for users who purchased the title via Steam.

A number of users who recently purchased Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam were left unable to access the Rocksteady Studios title after entering serial keys that failed to activate, Eurogamer reports.

While users are still billed for the title, previously a part of the Steam Summer Sale, serial keys are said to be "not found in the database."

The issue is thought to relate to digital rights management service SecuROM, which launches a pop-up window that appears when the game launches.

Numerous forum users are taking to the Steam community forum to complain, while Batman: Arkham Asylum publisher Warner Bros. told one user it is currently "researching the issue." Valve has yet to respond.
