Lego: Lord of the Rings to feature 85 playable characters.
Lego: Lord of the Rings, the upcoming installment in the Lego games franchise, will feature 85 playable characters, including a number that have never appeared in the film adaptations.
The title, which will take place at the end of the Second Age, will focus on offering a complete recreation of all of Middle Earth as based on maps and information from the original Tolkien novels. All areas from Rivendell to Moria will be located in the correct location as based on the lore.
While the game will include an instant travel feature, it will be possible to fully explore Middle Earth by foot or on horseback once each area is completed.
"We wanted much bigger and better than just having hubs that lead to playthroughs of the films," said TT Games' Nick Ricks.
Dialogue, however, will be taken directly from the films, which means the main characters in the title will be voiced by their film counterparts, including Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom.
