PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will have a public beta this fall, according to a post on the official PlayStation blog.

According to Chan Park, president of developer SuperBot Entertainment, the game's beta began last week with a small group of players, and a recent leak that included characters and locations stemmed from the beta.

"As part of this exclusive access, players were able to take control of characters such as Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, and Fat Princess and battle in environments such as Dreamscape, Metropolis, Sandover Village, and Hades," he said. "The feedback we're receiving from beta testers has been highly encouraging and valuable, helping us craft the best online multiplayer fighting experience possible."

Although the leaks from the beta don't necessarily represent the final product, Chan teased an impending official announcement and a new character reveal at Gamescom in August, where Polygon will be on hand to bring the news to you.

SuperBot will send small batches of early beta invites to PlayStation Plus members in the coming weeks. The fall beta will be open to interested parties throughout the entire PlayStation network.
