'Dead or Alive 5' may ship with unannounced characters

Unannounced characters could be included in shipped copies of Dead or Alive 5.

Dead or Alive 5 may ship with unannounced characters, Team Ninja's Yousuke Hayashi told Famitsu.com, as translated by Andriasang.

According to Hayashi, some characters must be unlocked through play, forming the basis for why the team is not revealing all characters in advance.

When asked whether the unannounced characters are from Dead or Alive or Virtua Fighter series', he answered there may be some of each. In addition, he stated character modeling has been re-done, while female characters were designed with the concept of creating the "cutest girls in gaming history."

Dead or Alive 5 is scheduled to release September 25th on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America.
