Silent Hunter Online, a browser-based free-to-play naval warfare strategy game coming from Ubisoft, is accepting sign-ups for a closed beta period.

Silent Hunter Online, a browser-based free-to-play naval warfare strategy game coming from Ubisoft, is accepting sign-ups for a closed beta period.

Ubisoft announced the game with a teaser trailer, seen below, at Gamescom 2012. Silent Hunter Online is a massively multiplayer game, in a way: all players contribute to the progress of world events and can team up with allies in "Wolfpacks" to launch joint attacks, torpedoes be damned.

Silent Hunter Online is in development at Blue Byte Software. The studio is also working on Anno Online, another free-to-play browser-based title, for Ubisoft. Interested parties can head to the game's official website to apply for entry into the upcoming beta. Until it launches, check out the teaser trailer and screenshots below.
