Nintendo to reveal Wii U launch date and price on September 14th in New York City.
Nintendo will hold an all-day event in New York City next month to reveal more about its next generation video game console, Wii U. On Thursday, September 13th, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime will host a press briefing to reveal "more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment," according to an invitation sent to Polygon.
Sources close to Nintendo tell Polygon that a Wii U launch date and price are likely to be announced at the event. Hands-on game play with Wii U software is promised.
Nintendo held a similar event in New York in January 2011 where Fils-Aime announced the launch date and price of the Nintendo 3DS.
At E3 2012, Nintendo committed to a Wii U launch in North America by "holiday 2012."
