A new game update that flings Rovio's Angry Birds to the red planet of Mars is out today in app stores worldwide.
The update is an addition to the highly successful Angry Birds series that remains one of the bestselling games for mobile devices.
The teaser trailer for the game that was released today spins off the Curiosity Rover landing in Mars earlier this month. In the trailer, Curiosity touches down on the red planet before finding remnants of stacked logs and Angry Birds' injured green pigs. Out of the corner of the camera's eye, an angry bird appears.
Angry Birds Space added 20 new levels last month and a Green Day-themed episode was announced earlier this week.
Angry Birds Space: Red Planet will be available in app stores on August 23rd, 2012. [Note: At the time of writing, the game is not yet available in the Australian Apple App Store.]
