Indie games make it to Fantastic Fest

More than 20 independently developed games will be shown at Fantastic Arcade, an event where the world of films and games collide.

More than 20 independently developed games will be shown at Fantastic Arcade, an event where the world of films and games collide.

Fantastic Arcade is the video game component of Fantastic Fest, the largest genre film festival in the US that specializes in horror, fantasy, science fiction, action, and films from around the world. During the week-long festival, video game tournaments, panels, and a game jam will run from September 20-23.

Fantastic Arcade will feature a 48-hour game jam and games created from the jam will be shown off in one of eight custom-built arcade cabinets. The remaining seven arcade cabinets will feature Mathew Davis and Justin Ma's FTL, Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital's Hotline Miami, Terry Cavanagh's Super Hexagon, Molleindustria's Unmanned, Vlambeer's Luftrausers, Capybara Games' Super TIME Force, and SOS' McPixel.

Additional indie games like Die Gute Fabrik's Where is My Heart and Young Horses' Octodad: Dadliest Catch will also be featured during the festival.

Admission to Fantastic Arcade is free and open to the public, but entry to Fantastic Fest requires a ticket. Fantastic Fest runs from September 20-27, with the Arcade component running from September 20-23. The event will be held in Austin, Texas.
