Gears of War: Judgment adds COG-on-COG action with free-for-all multiplayer

Gears of War: Judgment expands into new multiplayer territory with Free For All mode.

The next entry in the Gears of War series will pit COG against COG in grisly, Lancer-on-Lancer action with the addition of a free-for-all multiplayer mode, according to the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. No objectives — and based on the lone screen shot, no Locust — just straight up kill-or-be-killed competition.

People Can Fly's Gears of War: Judgment will "blur the line between friend and foe" in the mode, new to Epic Games' franchise, when the Xbox 360 game hits sometime next year. Details are scant, but Epic and Microsoft are bringing Judgment to PAX Prime this weekend, perhaps with new multiplayer features in tow.

Gears of War: Judgment is on the books for a March 19th release next year.
