PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale players have yet another combatant to choose from: Raiden from Konami's Metal Gear franchise.

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale players have yet another combatant to choose from: Raiden from Konami's Metal Gear franchise.

The news, which comes courtesy of a video on GameSpot featuring SuperBot Entertainment's Omar Kendall and Sony's Seth Killian, confirms a previous leak.

According to Kendall, Raiden is most effective at close range, thanks to his katana. The blade and his combat skills allow him to strike quickly in punishing combos, which can also be used to juggle opponents in the air. Instead of fighting at long range, Raiden uses his speed to quickly close the distance between him and his foes.

Raiden debuted in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, showed up as a cybernetic ninja in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and is the protagonist of the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale will be out on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 20th. It's a Cross Buy game, so fans who buy the PS3 version get the PS Vita version free.
