Konami is moving its European headquarters to the United Kingdom.
Konami is merging its European offices and leaving its base in Germany to form a new headquarters in the United Kingdom beginning at the start of its next financial year in April 2013, the publisher announced today.
Both the Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH and the Konami Digital Entertainment B.V will merge, operating under the B.V. structure. According to the publisher, this transition is part of the company's push to ensure every territory can provide a more localized service.
As of now, Konami's four local officies in France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom will retain regional roles, while the company will still have a significant German presence despite the move.
"These are changes to match a very exciting and challenging time for video game publishers," said Konami's Digital Entertainment GmbH President Shinji Hirano.
"We want to show our commitment to the consumers in each territory by establishing close relationships that deliver what they particularly want and need, and to create rapport between us that benefits both sides."
Earlier in the month it was announced Konami will open a studio in London to focus on the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise.
