Sir, You Are Being Hunted, which developer Big Robot calls "a tweedpunk entertainment aberration for Britons and Foreigners," is slated for release on PC, Mac, and Linux in 2013.
Big Robot, a team of four that includes Rock, Paper, Shotgun writer Jim Rossignol, released a trailer today with footage from an alpha build of the open-world action game. Sir, You Are Being Hunted pits the player against "tweedpunk gentlemen automatons" and their robot hounds, and it takes place against the procedurally generated backdrop of a bleak British countryside. (The developers actually refer to their game engine, built in Unity, as the "British Countryside Generator.")
The trailer itself, with its sweeping vistas and stirring orchestral score, evokes Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood and its Jonny Greenwood-composed score. Check it out below.
